Getting Started with Pandora
Welcome to the Pandora marketplace. Pandora connects you with job opportunities posted by organizations that need qualified workers. Whether you are looking for flexible work, supplemental income, or a way to build your professional reputation, Pandora provides a fair and transparent platform where your performance directly determines your earnings and opportunities.
What Is Pandora?
Pandora is a marketplace built into the Otesse platform. Organizations post jobs they need filled — anything from residential cleaning to junk removal to carpet cleaning. You browse available jobs, claim the ones that fit your schedule, complete the work, and get paid. Your performance is tracked by a tier system that rewards consistency and quality with higher payouts and better job access.
Prerequisites
Before you can access Pandora, you need:
- An active Otesse account — If you do not have one, sign up on the platform
- Completed Pandora onboarding — This includes:
- A complete profile (name, contact information)
- Payment information for receiving payouts
- W-9 form if applicable (for tax reporting)
Until onboarding is complete, you will see the Pandora tab in your portal but it will show an onboarding checklist overlay instead of available jobs.
Your Starting Point
When you complete onboarding, you start at Tier 1 (New) with a base score. This means:
- You can see jobs scheduled 3+ days in advance
- You can claim jobs valued up to $300
- You earn the base payout rate
- You cannot see last-minute or same-day jobs yet
This is your foundation. Every job you complete on time contributes to advancing your tier.
How the Marketplace Works
1. Browse Available Jobs
Open the Available Jobs section in your portal. You will see job cards tailored to your tier and eligibility. Each card shows the job title, location, date/time, and your personalized payout estimate.
The jobs shown to you have already passed through a visibility pipeline that filters based on your tier, location, supply capabilities, and other factors. You will only see jobs you are eligible to claim.
2. Claim a Job
When you find a job that fits your schedule, tap the card to view full details. Review the location, time, payout, and any supply requirements. When ready, tap "Claim Job" and confirm.
Once claimed, the job moves to your My Jobs section and your calendar is updated.
3. Show Up and Do the Work
Arrive at the job location at the scheduled time. Complete the work as described. The organization will confirm completion from their side.
4. Get Paid
After the organization marks the job complete, your payout is queued for processing. You can track all your payouts in your payment history.
5. Build Your Reputation
Every completed job improves your tier score. Over time, you unlock higher tiers with better payouts, earlier job access, and fewer restrictions.
Key Concepts
Your Tier
Your tier (1-5) reflects your track record. Higher tiers mean higher payouts, earlier access to jobs, and eligibility for high-value work. See Understanding Tiers for details.
Payout Percentage
Each tier has a payout percentage that determines your earnings. For example, if a job's payout pool is $200 and your tier pays 85%, you earn $170. Higher tiers earn a larger percentage.
The Visibility Pipeline
Not all jobs are visible to all workers. The system filters jobs based on tier requirements, lead time, value caps, block lists, supply tags, and available slots. This ensures you see relevant, claimable jobs and that organizations can target the right workers.
Streaks
Completing jobs on time without no-shows or late put-backs builds a streak. Longer streaks contribute a small bonus to your score. A no-show or late put-back resets your streak to zero.
Your First Week
Here is a recommended approach for your first week on Pandora:
- Complete your onboarding — Fill in all required profile information and payment details
- Browse daily — Check Available Jobs regularly. New jobs are posted throughout the day
- Start small — Claim jobs you are confident you can complete on time
- Show up early — Arriving before the scheduled time ensures a smooth start and boosts your on-time rate
- Be responsive — When you receive action prompts (confirm arrival, mark tasks), respond quickly. Responsiveness is one of the scoring factors
Common Questions
How often are new jobs posted?
It varies by your area and the organizations operating there. Check back regularly — some workers check multiple times per day.
Can I claim multiple jobs at the same time?
Yes. There is no limit on active claims. However, be careful not to overcommit — no-shows are severely penalized.
What if I claim a job but then cannot make it?
Put the job back as early as possible. On-time put-backs (more than 24 hours before the job) carry only a slight penalty. See Job Put-Backs & Cancellations.
How quickly will I advance tiers?
It depends on your volume and consistency. The minimum job count for each tier is set by the platform. Focus on quality over speed — completing 10 jobs perfectly is better than rushing through 20 with issues.
