Payment Methods
Otesse uses Stripe to securely store and process your payment information. Your card details never touch our servers — they are handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure.
Adding a Payment Method
- Go to Payment Methods in your portal
- Click Add Payment Method
- Enter your card details in the secure Stripe form:
- Card number
- Expiration date
- CVC
- Billing ZIP code
- Optionally add a billing address (if different from your service address)
- Click Save Card
The card is tokenized by Stripe and stored securely. We only store the last 4 digits and card brand for display purposes.
Supported Payment Types
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Discover
Debit and credit cards are both accepted. Prepaid cards may be accepted but are not recommended for recurring subscriptions.
Setting a Default Payment Method
Your default payment method is used for:
- New bookings (pre-selected during checkout)
- Subscription renewals (charged automatically)
- Outstanding invoice payments
To change your default:
- Go to Payment Methods
- Find the card you want as default
- Click Set as Default
Removing a Payment Method
- Go to Payment Methods
- Find the card you want to remove
- Click Remove
- Confirm the removal
You cannot remove your last remaining payment method if you have active subscriptions. Add a replacement card first, then remove the old one.
Payment Security
- Encryption — All payment data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest
- PCI DSS Level 1 — Stripe maintains the highest level of PCI compliance
- No card storage — Otesse never stores your full card number, CVC, or expiration date
- Fraud detection — Stripe's machine learning monitors for suspicious activity
